Two sets of 4 small espresso cups and plates, from the tableware of Flash Love Story designed in 1982 by the American Dorothy Hafner. It is illustrated by Berlin-based artist Kitty Kahane with the moments of the romance from a loving couple. The illustrations on these cups give a salute to the symbols of this romantic relationship.
The designer of the tableware, Dorothy Hafner is an American ceramist and glass artist, trained painter and sculptor whose avant-garde tableware for Tiffany and Rosenthalbecame icons of 1980s design. Her works are present in several major collections, including the the Cooper Hewitt Museum and the Brooklyn Museum in New York beside many others.
Kitty Kahane is a versatile Berlin design artist who has created imaginative designs for fabrics, carpets and porcelain for Rosenthal. She has won numerous prizes and had successful exhibitions in many major German cities, Switzerland, Luxembourg and France and in the USA.
