Jean-Charles de Castelbajac 'My Funny Valentine' chairs from Ligne Rose
A set of two wonderful 'My Funny Valentine' chairs from Ligne Rose, with shapes and colours reminiscent of The Memphis group's aesthetics. The chairs were designed by the popular French fashion, later furniture designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac (b.1949) and manufactured by Ligne Roset in circa 1990. The sleek but strong chairs' backrest is covered in patterned cotton canvas and the seats are upholstered in velvet. The backrest is held in place by an elegant and at the same time very sturdy metal claps. The chairs feature strong arched, black painted wooden legs.
Both of the chairs feature the original signatures.
