Dorothy Hafner and Kitty Kahane - Flash Love Story Mug for Rosenthal

A set of two mugs with two plates from the porcelains of Flash Love Story, designed in 1982 by the American Dorothy Hafner. It is illustrated by Berlin-based artist Kitty Kahane with the moments of the romance from a loving couple. The illustrations follow their journey of love and their shared life. 

The designer of the tableware, Dorothy Hafner is an American ceramist and glass artist, trained painter and sculptor whose avant-garde tableware for Tiffany and Rosenthalbecame icons of 1980s design. Her works are present in several major collections, including the the Cooper Hewitt Museum and the Brooklyn Museum in New York beside many others. Kitty Kahane is a versatile Berlin design artist who has created imaginative designs for fabrics, carpets and porcelain for Rosenthal. She has won numerous prizes and had successful exhibitions in many major German cities, Switzerland, Luxembourg and France and in the USA.

The Rosenthal studio-line series was designed by internationally renowned artists in series of limited edition. Each item is numbered and signed. Tableware from Rosenthal studio-line stands for the tradition of fine porcelain with a worldwide reputation.
