An expressive example of late 20th-century Hungarian metalwork, characterized by five sweeping curved arms arranged at different heights around a strong central axis. Wide, shallow candle dishes, geometric details and spherical elements create a distinctly sculptural and architectural composition.

The elegant curved lines contrast with the substantial polished base, giving the piece a particularly striking silhouette. Both functional and decorative, the candelabra works equally well as a centerpiece or as a sculptural object in a modern, Mid-Century Modern or eclectic interior.

Attila Demcsik (born 1952) is a Hungarian metalsmith and applied artist whose work represents the distinctive experimental approach to Hungarian metal design of the late 20th century.

Hungary, circa 1980.
