Adjustable Frosted Glass Disc Table Lamp, France 1990s

A sculptural table lamp, believed to be French and dating from the 1990s, distinguished by its striking combination of geometric forms and adjustable lighting.

The design centres on a large, circular frosted glass reflector, supported by a slender curved metal arm. Its adjustable position allows the direction and character of the light to be altered, creating an interplay between illumination, reflection and the translucent glass surface.

A cylindrical metal housing contains the light source, rising from a substantial circular base. The satin-finished metal provides a restrained industrial contrast to the delicate appearance of the glass disc.

With its clean architectural lines and carefully balanced proportions, the lamp reflects the minimalist design language of the late 20th century. Its distinctive silhouette makes it equally compelling as a functional light source and a sculptural decorative object.

The lamp is currently fitted with an LED light source.
