Tecta “D25” High-Back Cantilever Chair, Bauhaus Lineage, Germany, 1980s–1990s
A timeless and elegant cantilever chair from the celebrated German manufacturer Tecta, designed in continuity with the Bauhaus tradition of Mart Stam, Marcel Breuer and Jean Prouvé. This model, the D25, is characterized by its refined architectural silhouette: a continuous bent steel tube frame supporting an organically flexible, hand-woven seat and back.
The chair features its original deep navy woven upholstery, providing both comfort and visual texture. The high backrest offers a graceful, elongated line, while the hand-wrapped armrests create a balanced and inviting form. The chromed cantilever base gives the chair its iconic “floating” presence — light in appearance, stable in use. A sophisticated and sculptural seating piece that carries the Bauhaus idea of simplicity, material honesty, and functional beauty into contemporary interiors.
This is an original vintage example, not a later reproduction.
